Micro-Needling with eDermastamp®

NEW from multi-gold award winning Genuine Dermaroller®, the eDermastamp® is a fractional micro-needling device with a unique spring-loaded desposable single-use needle tip that uses an automated, vibrating stamp-like motion powered by electricity. The device enables trained professionals to provide a more intensive, controllable and comfortable medical skin-needling procedure that has been proven to effectively treat acne and surgical scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles. At MD Laser Skin Clinic, we are pleased to introduce this newest technology to replace the old fractional RF laser for skin rejuvenation, simply because it works faster, better, safer for all skin types, with little to no downtime.

How it works

The eDermastamp uses fine precision, medical-grade, stainless steel sterile single-use micro-needles to cause minimal tissue trauma with 0.5 to 1.5mm depth of skin penetration at a predetermined frequency. Micro-needling is a procedure that produces thousands of microscopic channels into the skin, which close rapidly, thus enabling the skin to recover quickly in the same day. The small wounds stimulate your skin’s natural healing processes to produce new healthy tissue growth, a process which may be referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy.

There are 4 major physiological phases of Collagen Induction Therapy:

  1. Day 1-3: Initial inflammatory response promotes matrix formation by the migration of platelets and fibroblasts, removal of debris and bacteria, and stimulates the next proliferative phase.
  2. Day 3-5: New fibroblasts, monocytes and keratinocytes continue to proliferate and multiply.
  3. Day 5-20: A fibrotic response is initiated with the release of growth factor, which induces fibroblasts to synthesize collagen.
  4. Day 28 – 6 months: Collagen matures and stiffens, producing new healthy, tighter skin.

Will it hurt and how many treatments will I need?

Micro-needling can significantly improve the appearance of acne and surgical scars, sun damaged andaging skin, facial wrinkles and stretch marks. Suitable for all skin types, there is minimal downtime after the treatment. A topical anaesthetic cream is used to make the procedure very tolerable and comfortable. The number of treatments will vary depending on the skin complaint being addressed, however, it would normally consist of 3 procedures with approximately 6 weeks apart. Your skin will continue to improve and regenerate long after the treatments due to residual effects of fibroblast stimulation.

Currently, the eDermastamp is the only CE-approved medical device of its kind (non-ablative, non-surgical) available on the market. To see some typical Before-and-After photos, please visit www.nordicselfcare.com/brands/dermaroller/

Home care

Although there is very little downtime following your micro- needling procedure, it is important that you follow the post-op protocol and use the home care products we provide you (other than sunscreen) to protect the growth factors that will stimulate your skin renewal. Time will benefit your results, so be patient. Also, depending on the type of skin problem, our medical aesthetician may recommend different pre-treatment and post-treatment protocols, such as interim chemical peeling using our Mesopeel system.

For fees and more information, a consultation appointment with our medical aesthetician is required to formulate your specific treatment protocol. A consultation fee is applicable, which is credited towards your first treatment.
