January / February 2012 - Dr. Renaud Make Me Up
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for checking in on our newsletter. This winter has definitely been a pleasant surprise...almost balmy weather and no snow to speak of. These conditions are also great for our skin... less dry skin, windburn, frost bite, chapped lips!
This brings me to my update on the MD Laser Skin clinic. We are pleased to introduce a line of skin foundation and concealers for retail. Many of my clients ask me what to use to conceal and mask minor skin imperfections and I was never able to recommend a good brand of cosmetics because I did not find one that was good for my skin. Well now, I have tried and found a lovely foundation line that is light, but has excellent coverage that looks completely natural, and not expensive. It is from "Dr. Renaud", a medical grade skin care line that we introduced over a year ago because we found it to have excellent results for many problematic skin conditions. As it turns out, Dr. Renaud has a cosmetic line of products named "MAKE ME UP" which include high quality foundations, blush, eye shadows, lipsticks, mascara, etc. made with natural botanical ingredients for an affordable price.
Personally, I do not wear a lot of make-up, but I do want a good concealer and foundation for those occasions where I have to look my best. I was really impressed when I tried Dr. Renaud's MAKE ME UP (shade Vienne) foundation. It is light, silky, and blends into my skin tone invisibly, covering up small veins and blemishes (yes, I do have them even with IPL) and giving my skin a healthy glow. All I can say is- I decided to carry the line to retail to my clients right away.
So the next time you stop by our MD Laser Skin Clinic for a facial, laser procedure, or Botox and Filler, try our testers and see if this line of foundation is right for you. It only comes in 3 master shades that will blend in perfectly with 90 percent of skin types.
That's it for now. Tune in to my next newsletter in April, during which we are planning a special Botox 1-day only sale!

November / December 2011 - Christmas Newsletter
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the 2011 Christmas Newsletter! I hope that all is well with you and I wish you a very safe
and festive Holiday Season! The X-mas newsletter provides an opportunity for me, Dr. Lily Lo, to update
you on news, to inform you of new services and most importantly, and to thank you for allowing me and
my associates to take care of your dental health. It is a pleasure for us to serve you and we work very
hard to provide excellent dental care to you and your family. As most of you know, I have two dental
office locations...my main office at 1200 Lawrence Ave. and my second clinic in Richmond Hill at 16th
Avenue Dental. Your kind referrals to either location are greatly appreciated and BTW, I will now be
awarding a $10 gift card to you (either Starbucks or Subway) as a small "Gracias!" for any new patients
who book at either of our clinics.
I would like to touch on the "accessory" cosmetic services which my husband, Dr. Kenneth Lam and I provide through the medispa, MD Laser Skin Clinic, situated at 1200 Lawrence Avenue East. The Laser Clinic has been in business for over 6 years. We offer reliable, modern laser hair removal, photo rejuvenation, scar and acne resurfacing, chemical peels, facials, skin care products and much more. Dana, who many of you have met, has been my Laser Medical Aesthetician for many years. She is experienced, and highly knowledgeable. As well, additional laser services are offered by the 16th Avenue Medispa director, Olive, who you may see from time to time working at our clinic. Our latest treatments include Botox Therapeutic for TMJ myofacial pain, excessive sweating, Cosmetic Botox and Juvederm fillers which Dr. Lam and I perform routinely. I should let you know that our Fractional laser has been extremely effective in fading and remodelling surgical/acne scars, and stretch marks. Did I mention that we sell a product that grows amazingly long eyelashes too? I am using it and it works! If you have any questions about anything, please book a consultation appointment with me and I will try to give you some advice and information. To view the complete newsletter please click here.
September / October 2011 - Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
MD Laser Skin Clinic is offering Botox® injections to relieve excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis) that may affect any part of the body including underarms, hands, feet and the face.
Botox® injections relieve excessive sweating for up to seven months. Long term studies indicate side effects are minimal and repeated injections are safe with a fifty percent or greater reduction in sweating.
Botox® injections relieve excessive sweating by blocking the release of acetylcholine which activates our sweat glands.
Sweating is a normal reaction to stress, heat and exercise. Some people sweat excessively thereby creating social problems, psychological embarrassment and many are too upset to seek help from their family doctor.
Excessive sweating can be easily treated by Botox®, with efficacy and virtually no side effects.
For more information or to book a consultation, please call us. This procedure may be partially covered by some insurance plans.

July / August 2011 - TMJ
With regards to new procedures at the dental clinic and medispa, I am a certified provider of Botox Therapeutic treatment, which is used to alleviate Temporal Mandibular Joint Disorder-related symptoms of pain and headaches due to grinding and clenching.
Botox is an effective muscle relaxant that works quickly, safely and locally to reduce jaw muscle hyperactivity without the side effects of an oral muscle relaxant (drowsiness, body fatigue).
The goal of Botox therapy is to prevent the overuse of the TMJ by weakening the surrounding muscles of mastication for a few months to allow healing and natural body repair of inflamed tissues.
It is an excellent treatment for acute TMJ pain and should be used as an adjunct to splint/night guard therapy, which is required for long term management. If you suffer from jaw pain, headaches and have masseter muscle hypertrophy, you are probably a bruxer/clencher and can benefit from Botox therapy.
For more information, please book a consultation appointment with me to see if you are a candidate for this new and exciting treatment. Botox Therapeutic for TMJ costs approximately $600 and may be partially covered by some health care insurance plans.

May / June 2011 - Latisse and Fractional Laser
Welcome to our newly renovated MD Laser Skin Clinic website. I am Dr. Lily Lo, the co-owner of MD Laser Skin Clinic. It is my pleasure to inform you that we have new laser technology, new medical facials, and a new exciting eyelash product to offer you! I am sure that once you try them, you'll be really happy you did.
Our new laser technology is the Fractional Non-ablative Laser Resurfacing treatment. It is the only treatment out there that will remodel old scars, improve acne-scarred skin, fade "smoker's lines" around the lips, tighten the facial skin, and improve stretch marks....non-surgically. I tried the Fractional Laser on an old, ugly scar on my knee (I fell on concrete playing tennis 7 years ago), and you know, I have noticed an amazing improvement in the colour and texture only after 2 treatments! I couldn't believe how quickly it improved only after 3 months! My knee no longer has that obvious wrinkled patch.
Also, I'm excited to offer Latisse, a topical solution that has been approved by the FDA to treat insufficient eyelash growth. I'm sure you've seen the commercials by Brooke Shields on this product, and being a "lash-challenged" person all my life, I decided to try it. Guess what? It works! After only 2 months of using this product nightly, my lashes have grown 30 %....( see my lash pics above). It's a miracle. Now I use it about 2 or 3 times a week to maintain.
I hope that you will call us for more information about our products and services. We have competitive pricing on Botox and Filler, and we offer discounts to our loyal clients!
Have a Happy Spring! For my next newsletter in July, I will discuss new Botox treatment for TMJ pain/headaches...
