Botox®
Botox Cosmetic® is a simple, non-surgical and safe way to help smooth out frown lines in minutes. It is an injectable treatment derived from purified protein administered to relax muscles that create dynamic wrinkles such as glabellar (frown lines) between the eyebrows.
As the muscle relaxes the dynamic wrinkles overlying the muscle is smoothed away. Because the treatment only relaxes the muscle beneath the frown line at the injection site other elements of facial expression remain active and natural looking.
Each treatment lasts approximately 3-4 months at which time another injection is required.
After several treatments, the effects of Botox Cosmetic® may begin to last longer.
Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the discomfort associated with injections is minimal thus no sedation or local anesthetic is required.
You can drive home or back to the office as there is no downtime with Botox. Some patients experience a slight temporary bruising at the injection site, which can be concealed with makeup.
