Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating that may affect any part of the body including underarms, hands, feet and the face.

Botox for Excessive Sweating Botox® injections relieve excessive sweating for up to seven months. Long term studies indicate side effects are minimal and repeated injections are safe with a fifty percent or greater reduction in sweating.

Botox® injections relieve excessive sweating by blocking the release of acetylcholine which activates our sweat glands.

Sweating is a normal reaction to stress, heat and exercise. Some people sweat excessively thereby creating social problems, psychological embarrassment and many are too upset to seek help from their family doctor.

Alternative treatment approaches to excessive sweating include:

Antiperspirants (applied on top of skin)

Surgical removal of sweat glands

Severing the sympathetic nerves linked to the sweat glands (sympathectomy)

Blocking the sweat glands with small galvanic electric currents (iontophoresis).
